DAVIS, Calif. - Cal Poly captured all nine matches in straight sets as the Division I Mustangs defeated UC Davis, 9-0, in a non-conference women's tennis match Friday afternoon at Hickey Courts.
With the loss the Aggies fall to 4-6 on the season.
The Mustangs took a 3-0 lead after sweeping the opening doubles matches then followed that up with two-set victories at all six single spots. The victory by the Mustangs was in stark contrast to last year's match when Cal Poly narrowly espaced with a 4-3 win in San Luis Obispo.
"It was another tough match for the Ags," said UC Davis Head Coach Bill Maze. "I told our team that this is going to be good for us down the road if we can keep our head up and learn from this match."
UC Davis will next be in action on Friday when they face California Collegiate Athletic Association foe Sonoma State in Rohnert Park. Matchtime is set for 1:30pm.
