SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Layla Sanders and Nicole Koehly helped UC Davis collect its first doubles victory in Saturday's Big West Conference match at UC Santa Barbara; teammates Megan Heneghan and Melissa Kobayakawa recorded the first team point for the Aggies with their triumph in the decisive match of the doubles round. When action advanced to the singles round, the host Gauchos took each singles matchup to record a 6-1 come-from-behind victory.

With the result, UC Davis falls to 5-6 overall and 1-2 in conference play. UC Santa Barbara improves to 3-9 and 2-1.

Koehly/Sanders breezed through their doubles contest, one they won by an 8-1 score, before UCSB took the No. 3 doubles contest to pull even with the Aggies. Once Heneghan/Kobayakawa walked off the court, UC Davis officially took a 1-0 lead heading into the round of singles matches.

UC Davis will cap its Central California road trip Sunday afternoon by facing Cal Poly, in San Luis Obispo, at 2 p.m.
