MORAGA, Calif. - Ashley Lehman, Luna Tieu and Kerri Roemer each won their opening match on Saturday to highlight the Aggies play at the 2002 Saint Mary's Invitational.
UC Davis had seven players competing in the consolation draw on Saturday, with Lehman battling for the 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 win over San Francisco's Alyssa Samuel in her first match on Saturday. Also earning a win on Saturday were Tieu, who defeated San Francisco's Caysea Dawson, 7-5, 6-2, and Roemer, who won when Saint Mary's Lisanne Elfring withdrew from the tournament.
All three advanced to the second round of the consolation draw before being eliminated on Saturday.
In doubles play, Roemer and Gretchen Schantz were forced to default their second-round doubles match to San Francisco's Beate Bernhoff and Gabriel Ruiz.
Play concludes at the Saint Mary's Invitational on Sunday.
