PALO ALTO, Calif. — Although the Aggies saw an end to their main draw run, the women’s squad garnered two doubles duos earned match victories in consolation play, as well as a First Round singles consolation match victory from sophomore Kelsie Bryant after the third day of the ITA Northwest Regional Championships at Stanford.
In consolation doubles play, three UC Davis doubles teams participated in the consolation Round of 32, with two of them leaving the courts with match wins. Sophomores Kristina Breisacher and Nikita Pradeep defeated Eastern Washington’s Rylee Braeden and Stephanie Broussard, 8-6, while the team with Bryant and senior Kristy Jorgensen defeated Karina Vyrlan and Mayan Sela from Pacific, 8-5.
For consolation singles play, Bryant got a straight set Round of 128 win over Cal Poly’s Abigail Bacharach, 6-4, 6-2.
The women’s tennis team has now concluded both their participation at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships and their fall tournament season.
