STANFORD, Calif. - Seniors Ellie Edles and Zoe Davidson each won on Sunday to advance to the consolation singles round of 32 as the UC Davis women's tennis team continued play at the USTA/ITA Northwest Regional at Stanford.
Edles defeated Washington's Brianna Kemp with a quick 6-0, 6-2 straight-set victory. She will face Santa Clara's Kelly Lamble in the round of 32 on Monday.
In the bottom half of the consolation bracket, Davidson made quick work of Oregon's Lena Macomson. The Aggie senior blanked Macomson 6-0 in the first set, before advancing to the round of 32 with a 6-4 win in the second set. She'll face Fresno State's Bianca Modoc.
Claire Jaramishian took San Jose State's Margot Charron to three sets in her consolation singles match. Charron claimed the first set 6-1 but Jaramishian came back to take the second set 6-3 before Charron edged out the Aggie freshman 1-0 in the final set.
In consolation doubles action, Davidson and Jaramishian paired up against Eastern Washington's Alexis Filliol and Chrissy Uriarte but dropped an 8-4 decision in the round of 16.
