HONOLULU – Numerous rain delays and inclement weather has forced a suspension of UC Davis’ Big West match at Hawai’i.
After five hours of rain delays on Saturday, singles matches were underway before another wave of rain hit the island and halted the match. The two teams tried to resume play late Saturday night, but consistent showers prevented them from restarting. At that time, both coaches agreed to continue the match early Sunday morning.
Additional rainstorms, combined with UC Davis’ travel plans, forced a suspension of this matchup. Both coaching staffs are working with conference officials to determine an appropriate date, time and location to resume this event.
UC Davis’ final tune-up before the start of the Big West Women’s Tennis Tournament will take place on Saturday, April 19, when San Jose State visits the Marya Welch Tennis Center.
