DAVIS, Calif. — Coming off a brief hiatus from the Saint Mary’s Fall Invitational, UC Davis women’s tennis will return to action at Stanford this weekend to compete in the ITA Northwest Regional Championships for their last fall season tournament. For the 11th season in a row, the Palo Alto university will host this tournament, starting on Oct. 19 and ending on Oct. 23, at the Taube Family Tennis Center.
The ITA Regional Championships will have 85 ITA Regional Championships competition sites across the country, which will host over 8,000 student-athletes in total from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior and Community Colleges. At the Northwest Regional Championships in specific, a total of 16 schools, including UC Davis and host Pacific, will make an appearance at this tournament
The draw size will be 128 for singles and 64 for doubles. The regional’s main draw singles and doubles champions will earn automatic berths to the 2017 ITA Fall National Intercollegiate Championships from Nov. 1-5 at the JW Marriot and the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Palm Desert, Calif.

To recap the highlights from the Saint Mary’s Fall Invitational, sophomores Kristina Breisacher and Nikita Pradeep won the main draw Fight “B” doubles crown, while senior Lani-Rae Green elongated her tournament run by qualifying to the Final Round of Flight “A” singles consolation play.
With the ITA Northwest Regional Championships concluding the women’s tennis fall tournament season, the Aggies will officially return to the courts at the end of January to launch the opening of their spring season campaign.
