Assistant Coach

The veteran of the UC Davis women's volleyball coaching staff, Chou enters his 15th season with the program and his eighth as top assistant.

His primary on-court responsibilities are the Aggies' defense and outside hitters. Off the court, Chou serves as the recruiting coordinator and assists with all aspects of the program.

Chou graduated from UC Davis in 1994 with a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology with a psychology emphasis. He also added a minor in history. As a member of the Aggie men's volleyball club, Chou helped lead UC Davis to third- and fifth-place finishes. He also recently completed his M.B.A. from Ellis College of the New York Institute of Technology.

Chou's USAV Men's AA indoor sixes team won regional championships in 1998 and 1999. He is also an accomplished outdoor grass doubles and Chinese Nine-Man volleyball player. His nine-man squad captured fifth at the NACIVT nine-man national tournament in 2001.

Chou previously spent three years as head coach of the UC Davis men's club volleyball team which finished tied for ninth in the country in 2001. He also has officiated collegiate volleyball.

Chou graduated from Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill in 1989, where he earned varsity letters in badminton and tennis.

Chou and his wife, Lori, reside in El Dorado with their numerous Siberian Huskies and other animals.
