Played mostly at libero, leading Aggies and ranking 4th in Big West with 475 digs (4.13 per set)... Tallied double-figured digs in 26 matches, including five with 20-plus... Also led team with 26 aces... Committed 36 receiving errors for .956 pass percentage... Posted season-high 27 digs vs. Long Beach State (11/12)... Also had 23 digs each in five-set battles with UC Santa Barbara (10/1) and Cal Poly (10/29)... Served up season-high 3 aces in season finale vs. Pacific (11/19)... Earned all-tournament honors at Pioneer Classic, mostly due to 19 digs and 2 aces vs. host Denver (9/9). 2010: Appeared in 23 matches for 66 sets... Tallied 113 digs and committed just 7 receive errors in 147 opportunities (.952)... Picked up season-best 14 digs in season finale vs. Pacific (11/20)... Scored double-digit digs on three other occasions: Sacramento State (9/14), UC Santa Barbara (10/16) and Cal State Northridge (10/30). 2009: Played in 10 matches for 21 sets... Finished year with 2 aces and 15 digs... Earned start vs. Mississippi State after serving up 2 aces at Missouri State (9/3)... Tallied 6 digs vs. Bulldogs in lone start (9/4). BISHOP O'DOWD HS '09: Captured first-team All-Hayward Area Athletic League honors as a senior, helping team to 62-7 combined record and consecutive North Coast Section Division III titles during final two seasons... Hit 140-58-383 (.214) that year with 37 aces, 41 blocks and 191 digs... Played club ball for Golden Bear VBC, helping team to bronze medal at Junior Olympics in 2008, silver medal in 2009. PERSONAL: Born in Alameda, Calif.... Majoring in exercise biology... Parents are Arthur & Janet Mercado... Something most people don't know about her: she doesn't like chocolate.
