Jessica Bauder posted a match-high 25 kills and was one of six Falcons with double-figured digs as Seattle Pacific beat UC Davis, 24-30, 30-22, 30-19, 30-26, at the SPU/Comfort Suites Classic women's collegiate volleyball tournament at the Royal Brougham Pavilion Friday.

The Aggies suffer their first loss of the season, dropping to 3-1 overall. The Falcons remain unbeated at 5-0 on the year.

Senior outside hitter Kelly Gaudino led UC Davis with 22 kills and 20 digs. She also had a pair of service aces, as did freshman middle blocker Nicole Read. Four other Aggies had double-figured digs, as Christina Ng recorded 17, Mary McClelland had 16, and Kate Wilton and Marritt Cafarchia totalled 12 each.

UC Davis hit .250 as a team in its Game 1 win, but committed 19 hitting errors in the final two games. SPU compiled 9.0 team blocks as Kathleen Monda had a solo and five assists and Andra Taylor added five assists. Monda contributed 12 kills and .306 hitting on offense. Katie Ralph had 11 kills against just one error for a .500 hitting average. Andrea Pennington led SPU with 23 digs, followed by setter Katy Higgins who added 19 digs to go with her match-best 52 assists.

Gaudino's "20-20" performance is 13th in UC Davis history and the first since Brandi Glenn performed the feat in 1997. Seven other players have achieved such a match, with two-time All-American Candy Lench having done it six times in her career.

The Aggies continue tournament action on Saturday with a 10 a.m. match at Seattle University and a 4:30 p.m. match against Western Washington.
