Senior middle blocker Elizabeth Brown posted 11 kills and no errors to
lead UC Davis to a 30-27, 30-27, 30-21 sweep over Seattle Pacific in the
opening match of Western Washington's Viking Invitational at Carver Gym
Friday.
The Aggies improve to 4-1 on the season. The Falcons remain winless at
0-5.
Junior outside hitter Kelly Gaudino led UC Davis with 22 digs while senior
Cassandra Prell anchored the net defense with five total blocks. The Aggies
recorded 10.0 blocks as a team.
Setter Marritt Cafarchia added 31 assists and eight digs.
Brown, a former track standout at American River College, played just
three games in 2001 but has exploded offensively in her senior season. She
now has 30 kills and a .394 hitting percentage in UC Davis' first five matches.
Monica Herrera led SPU offensively with 17 kills, while Andrea Pennington
and Carri Colvin each tallied 12 digs.
The Aggies face 11th-ranked Western Washington at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
