UC Davis women's volleyball highlighted its spring season by winning the Big West Conference Beach Volleyball tournament, hosted by Long Beach State at Huntington Beach's Huntington Pier on Saturday.

No scores or statistics are available. The tournament is not officially sponsored by the Big West Conference, but features several of the league's top squads.

The event consisted of doubles and four-person divisions, with the Aggies opting for the latter category. Each matchup, done in a round-robin format, consisted of two 21-point sets with a 23-point cap.

UC Davis swept its two-set matches against UC Irvine, Pacific and Long Beach State's No. 2 team, then split its final pairing against Long Beach State's No. 1 squad. The Aggies won the four-person division with a 7-1 overall record.

Representing UC Davis were Carson Lowden, Avreeta Singh, Tori Hooper, Melanie Adams and Katie Denny. Kayla Varney also made the trip but was unable to play due to injury.

The Aggies host the UC Davis Spring Fling, an annual grass doubles tournament, on May 16 and 17.
