White repeats Big West weekly honors

DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis women's volleyball player Mahalia White captured her second consecutive Big West Conference Freshman of the Week award, the league office announced on Monday.

An outside hitter/opposite and an organizational studies major, White combined for 34 total kills and a .298 average in the Aggies' road wins at UC Riverside and Cal State Fullerton. She totaled 15 kills on .297 hitting against the Highlanders in Friday's four-set victory, then tallied a team-leading 19 kills with a .298 success rate in Saturday's five-set thriller versus the Titans.

White leads UC Davis in kills (231) and kills per set (3.08). The Aggies return to action in a home Dig Pink match against UC Santa Barbara Tuesday night.

Cal Poly's Adlee Van Winden won the league's overall Player of the Week award, while Hawai'i senior Emily Maglio earned Defensive Player of the Week.
