One of the most outstanding student-athletes ever to don a UC Davis water polo cap, Katherine O'Rourke Shroyer enters her third season as Jamey Wright's top assistant coach. She is involved in all aspects of the program.
In 2007, Shroyer became the second Aggie women's water polo player to earn the Hubert Heitman Award, bestowed upon the university's outstanding female athlete of the year. She led UC Davis with a career-high 57 goals and shot at a staggering .613 success rate, while posting 24 steals and 52 drawn exclusions. Shroyer earned Division I All-America honorable mention from the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) and her third straight selection to the All-Western Water Polo Association team.
Her remarkable senior year came as an encore to a junior season that landed her WWPA Most Valuable Player and ACWPC All-America third-team distinction. In all, Shroyer finished her career among the Aggies' all-time leaders in goals (154), shooting percentage (.526), minutes (2,685), steals (122) and drawn exclusions (150).
Most importantly, she played in 88 wins, more than any other player in program history.
Shroyer graduated from UC Davis with a degree in organizational studies in 2007. She married former Air Force standout Brandon Shroyer in 2009.
