Put simply, Korner's playing career with the Aggies will stand as one of the program's great success stories. The Hawthorne, Calif. native arrived at UC Davis as a middle blocker for the volleyball team, seeing sparse action as a redshirt freshman in 2003.
Korner joined the water polo team in the following spring, redshirting the 2003 season then playing in 11 games as one of five goalies on the roster in 2004. In 2005, she again saw limited time in front of the cage, playing behind starters Lina Moore and Nicole Hall.
Korner's patience and hard work was rewarded in the team's historic 2006 season. She started 19 games down the final stretch of the season, helping UC Davis capture the Western Water Polo Association title game and earn the program's first-ever berth in the National Collegiate Championships.
As a senior in 2007, Korner amassed 235 saves - the most since Molly Morris in 1999 - and became just the second Aggie in school history to surpass 400 saves in a career.
Korner twice earned ACWPC All-Academic honors in her major of neurobiology, physiology and behavior.
