COTATI, Calif. - Freshman center Carla Tocchini scored four goals while three other Aggies each netted two as 18th-ranked UC Davis rolled to a 16-7 victory over Sonoma State in women's collegiate water polo action at Rudloff Pool Saturday afternoon.

The Aggies even their record to 1-1.

Tocchini hit all of her goals on power plays, scoring one in the first quarter, one in the second and two in the fourth for her first collegiate hat trick. Katrina Husted, Ariel Arcidiacono and Allyson Hansen had two goals apiece, as UC Davis built a 5-0 lead in the first frame and an 8-1 edge by halftime.

Natural goals from Arcidiacono and Schlueter extended the Aggie advantage to 10-1 by the midway point in the third quarter. The Seawolves tacked on two goals down the stretch to set the board at 11-3 through 24 minutes of play. SSU center Alexa May scored back-to-back early in the fourth quarter to close the gap to 12-5 but UC Davis never let its margin dip to less than six. Tocchini complete 6-on-5 chances in the final two minutes to seal the victory.

Earlier in the day, Hansen scored three goals while seniors Hannah Curran and Alex Rawlinson added two each in a 14-11 exhibition win over the Olympic Club. A fixture on the Northern California water polo scene, the O Club features numerous collegiate All-Americans.
