SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Jennifer D'Anna scored two second-half goals to lead No. 11 UC Santa Barbara to a 5-3 win over No. 14 UC Davis in a women's collegiate water polo game Friday. The Gauchos overcame a 2-1 halftime deficit to take the win.

The Aggies fall to 9-4 on the season.

Senior Alli Johnstone scored two goals for UC Davis, while sophomore Kristin Pfaff added one. Aggie goalkeeper Meggan Brownrigg posted eight saves in net.

The Aggies took an early 2-0 lead, but Gaucho freshman Aimee Stachowski put her team on the board in the waning moments of the first half to cut the margin by one at the break. D'Anna, Katy Kunkel and Anne Kiening accounted for four goals in the second half.

The game served as a prelude for Saturday and Sunday's Gaucho Invitational. UC Davis opens its action with a 12:30 matchup with San Diego State, then will face either Long Beach State or UC Irvine to conclude the Day One round-robin play.
