SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Sophomores Allyson Hansen, Sammi Murphy and Ariel Arcidiacono and freshman Carla Tocchini each totaled three goals in leading 16th-ranked UC Davis to a pair of women's water polo wins at Santa Clara's Sullivan Aquatic Center Saturday afternoon. The Aggies dominated Concordia of Irvine by a 17-3 in neutral-site action, then clung to an 8-7 victory over the 18th-ranked host Broncos in the afternoon finale.

UC Davis improves to 11-10 for the season.

Hansen scored a hat trick in the nightcap against SCU, while five other players each chipped in a goal. The lefty center drew first blood in the game less than a minute in, scored on a power play midway through the second, then added her third goal amidst a run of three unanswered with 2:24 left before the halftime break. The Aggies held a 7-3 edge at the intermission.

The Broncos cut into the lead, halving it to 7-5 before Katrina Husted netted the Aggies' eighth goal on another 6-on-5 chance with less than five minutes remaining in the third. Erin Sheridan scored on the next trip down for SCU to cut the deficit to two. The Aggies protected that margin the rest of the way, save for a Kaitlin Andrews 6-on-5 score in the final seconds of regulation.

Arcidiacono, Tocchini and junior Keelia Houston accounted for the remaining UC Davis goals in the win over Santa Clara.

In Saturday's earlier action, Murphy delivered a hat trick to lead 12 different Aggie scorers in the widest margin of victory since UC Davis crushed Pomona-Pitzer by an identical score back on Mar. 26, 2011. Arcidiacono, Tocchini and senior center Hannah Curran added two apiece.

The Aggies never trailed in the game, putting up a whopping nine goals in the second quarter to forge a 13-1 lead. The Eagles got two goals from Tayla Walsh down the final stretch to set the board to its final of 17-3.

UC Davis returns home to launch a three-game homestand, starting with a March 16 date with Indiana.
