LOS ANGELES, Calif. -

Mary Dentice posted her team's only goal as UC Davis women's water polo dropped a 6-1 matchup against Loyola Marymount in the second of two road games held Thursday in Southern California. In earlier action, the Aggies defeated UC Irvine, 7-5, to avenge a loss suffered in a tournament earlier this season.

The Aggies move to 11-10 on the season.

UC Davis enjoyed four goals from Brittany Russell and three more by Alli Johnstone to ride out an early 6-2 win against the Anteaters during Thursday's morning action. Kelsey Whalen had 10 saves, two steals and two assists from the Aggie cage.

After the win at Irvine, UC Davis traveled to Los Angeles for a prelude match for Friday and Saturday's LMU Invitational tournament. Katie Hicks led the Lancers with two goals while goalie Rachel Riddell recorded 12 saves. The Lancers built a 5-0 lead into the third period before Dentice put the Aggies on the board with 2:09 remaining.

UC Davis opens LMU Invite with a 1 p.m. game against Claremont.
