LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Senior Beth Jay posted a hat trick to lead UC Davis to a 4-1 win over Redlands in the second game of Saturday's action at the Loyola Marymount Invitational women's water polo tournament. The Aggies had defeated Cal St. Northridge, 7-2, in an earlier matchup Saturday.

UC Davis, which went 3-0 in the two-day tournament, improves to 14-10 on the season.

The Aggies held the perennial D-III power Bulldogs to just nine shots for the game, but shot just 4-for-24 on offense. Alli Johnstone accounted for UC Davis' fourth goal along with Jay's three. Goalkeeper Kelsey Whalen posted two saves and an assist.

In the earlier game, UC Davis rode a 4-0 halftime lead to victory over the Matadors. Johnstone scored two goals in the win, while Jay, Shannon McGee, Brittany Russell, Michaela Brady and Nicole Lorrimer each added one. Whalen stopped seven CSUN shots in net.

The Aggies' next action takes place at Cal St. Bakersfield on April 5 with games against UC San Diego and the host Roadrunners.
