DAVIS, Calif. - Three different Aggie players each scored two goals to lead 14th-ranked UC Davis to a 9-2 win over Colorado State in the Sunday finale of Indiana University's Fluid Five collegiate women's water polo tournament at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center.
The Aggies, now 14-14 on the year, dropped a 6-3 game to No. 13 Michigan earlier in the day's action.
Senior Nicole Lorrimer, sophomore Katherine O'Rourke and freshman Mary Lowe split six of UC Davis' nine goals in the win over the Rams. The Aggies built a 5-0 lead at the halftime break, then senior Lowe's second goal stretched that margin to 6-0 before CSU's Laurien White broke the scoring seal for her team. White finished the game with both of her team's goals.
In contrast to its nightcap, UC Davis fell behind early against the Wolverines. Senior Sheeal Narsai completed her hat trick before the intermission to help Michigan craft a 4-1 halftime lead, then added a fourth goal in the opening minutes of the third period to send her team to a 5-1 lead through three quarters of play.
Megan Hausmann made it 6-1 for the Wolverines before the Aggie offense rallied for two late goals, cutting the score to its 6-3 final.
The Aggies return home to host the nine-team Davis Shootout on April 9-10. Western Water Polo Association foes Loyola Marymount and UC San Diego highlight the tournament field.
