DAVIS, Calif. -- Six different Aggies scored two goals each as 10th-ranked UC Davis defeated Pacific, 14-5, in a non-conference women's water polo game at Schaal Aquatics Center Friday afternoon. The victory, which concludes the regular season for both teams, extends the Aggies' win streak to 10.
UC Davis improves to 23-8 overall with the victory. The Tigers fall to 4-25.
The game also served as the final home contest for Aggie seniors Christi Raycraft, Jessica Soza, Casie Mota, Mary Lowe, Ashley Greenwood, Jaclyn Loberg Laura Uribe and Madeline Stephenson. Each were honored during pregame ceremonies.
Uribe scored a five-meter penalty shot and a 6-on-5 goal for the Aggies, while Raycraft had a penalty shot and natural goal. Soza, Dana Nelsen, Lauren Seidemann and Dakotah Mohr also had two goals each for the Aggies. Loberg collected three saves in her first-half stint at goalkeeper, She gave way to sophomore Casey Hines, who had three saves in roughly 11 minutes of work, then junior Diana Pivacek took over the net duties for the final five minutes.
For Pacific, senior Kellie Fletcher and sophomore Alex Kutac each had a pair of goals. Senior Jocelyn Gray posted seven saves in front of the Tiger cage.
In all, the start of Friday's game was delayed by more than 70 minutes. The senior presentations pushed the expected start of the game to 4:20, then one of the game officials did not arrive until 5:10 p.m.
The Aggies host their alumnae game as part of the campus's Picnic Day festivities on Saturday, then head to the Western Water Polo Association tournament on April 25-26.
