STOCKTON, Calif. - Senior Jenny Stephanopoulos scored three goals as UC Davis rode a 4-0 halftime lead to a 9-2 win over Pacific in a non-conference women's collegiate water polo game at Chris Kjeldsen Pool Friday.
The Aggies, ranked 16th nationally, improve to 18-16 for the year. The 20th-ranked Tigers move to 11-18 overall.
Freshman Jessica Soza and sophomores Katherine O'Rourke and Cassie Schaefer each scored goals to put UC Davis out to a 3-0 start in the first quarter. That margin was extended to 5-0 until midway through the third quarter, when Tiger senior Jessica Schroeder cracked the seal on a 6-on-5 goal at the 3:18 mark in the frame.
Lina Moore posted six saves in net for the Aggies.
UC Davis returns home to host the Western Water Polo Association tournament from April 29 to May 1. The winner of that tournament earns a berth in the NCAA Championships later in May.
