DAVIS, Calif. - Ariel Arcidiacono, the 2013 Western Water Polo Association Newcomer of the Year for Colorado State, signed a athletic grant-in-aid agreement to play for UC Davis women's water polo, head coach Jamey Wright announced during the late singing period. She will enroll at the university for the fall of 2013.

Originally from La Jolla High School and a veteran of the San Diego Shores club program, Arcidiacono scored a school-record 73 goals for the Rams last season, garnering the WWPA's nod as top newcomer. She also totaled 31 assists, 43 steals and 28 drawn exclusions in the program's final season. Colorado State announced that it would drop women's water polo in favor of women's soccer early in the 2013 season.

Arcidiacono is no stranger to Schaal Aquatics Center, having scored 12 goals in four games during the Aggie Shootout in early March. Her six goals against Sonoma State in that Saturday's opener tied a CSU record, matching her February 13 total against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps that earned her a KAP7 WWPA Co-Player of the Week award.

Arcidiacono twice earned All-San Diego Section first-team distinction for LJHS, leading her team in scoring in each of her junior and senior years. She also added CIF-SDS All-Academic honors both seasons. Arcidiacono played eight years for the Shores, helping the club to a silver medal at the Junior Olympics in 2010.
