DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis seniors Jessica Dunn and Carmen Eggert each captured All-America honorable mention from the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches, it was announced Monday evening. This is the third straight year the two Aggies have won such honors.
Dunn, originally from Los Alamitos, Calif., finished up her career as the program's No. 2 all-time scorer. She fired in 60 goals with 45 assists in 2013, bringing her lifetime totals to 208 and a school-record 140, respectively. Dunn, who captured All-Big West second-team honors earlier this spring, also broke her own UC Davis benchmark by scoring in 26 consecutive games last season.
Eggert, a native of San Rafael, Calif., tied Dunn for the team points lead with 105, scoring 80 goals with 25 assists. Her season goals total ranks fourth in school history, while her career sum sits third all-time. Eggert also set an Aggie record by averaging 25.4 minutes per game.
The first-team All-Big West Conference pick also achieved a varsity-era first when she was selected to the U.S. Senior National Team in May. Overall, Eggert led UC Davis in goals, points (tied), shots, 6-on-5 shooting, steals, drawn exclusions and field blocks last spring.
Dunn and Eggert become UC Davis' first three-time Division I All-Americans. Tiffany Hodgens made the Division II squads for four straight years and the Division I teams twice. Lindsay Kiyama (2008, 2009) and Katherine O'Rourke (2006, 2007) also earned Div. I nods more than once.
UC Davis finished 15-17 with a No. 18 national ranking in 2013.
