DAVIS, Calif. - Seven UC Davis women's water polo players earned recognition on the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches Association All-Academic rolls. Freshman Hannah Curran and Katie Schlueter were selected in the Outstanding category, senior Ashley Chandler and junior Alicia Began appeared in the Superior classification; while junior Kaylee Miller, sophomore Riane Woods and junior Dakotah Mohr warranted mention in the Excellent category.

To be eligible for ACWPC All-Academic recognition, a student-athlete must have competed in at least 50 percent of the team's contests and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher. The honor roll features three classifications: Outstanding (3.71-4.0), Superior (3.41-3.70) and Excellent (3.20-3.40).

Chandler, an English major who also represented UC Davis as the Big West Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year last March, picked up her fourth ACWPC academic award. She first earned the honor in 2007. This marks the third award for Began and Mohr, while 2011 represents the second straight year that Schlueter has earned the honor in the Outstanding category.

UC Davis finished 20-12 in 2011, placing third in the Big West tournament and ranking 16th in the final national coaches' poll.
