Vogt, Kosich Recognized on Silver Waves Media Most Impactful Mid Major Assistant List

DAVIS, Calif. — UC Davis men's basketball associate head coach Kyle Vogt and assistant coach/chief of staff Mike Kosich have been named to Silver Waves Media's 2026 list of the most impactful and influential mid-major assistant coaches, announced Monday.

Vogt enters his 15th season at UC Davis and his first as associate head coach following his promotion to associate head coach in June. His responsibilities include defensive schemes, perimeter player development, recruiting and opponent scouting. The Aggies ranked 12th nationally in turnovers forced per game in 2025-26 season.

Since Vogt joined the staff in 2012, UC Davis has recorded four 20-win seasons and captured three Big West regular-season or tournament championships. He also helped the Aggies earn their first NCAA Division I Tournament victory in 2017.

Kosich enters his second season with the Aggies after joining the program in July 2025. His role spans roster construction, recruiting, scheduling and program operations, along with player development, practice planning and game preparation. He helped UC Davis finish 19-14 last season and contributed to building the roster for the program's move to the Mountain West.

Before arriving in Davis, Kosich served as a recruiting analyst at San Diego State, helping the Aztecs reach the 2025 NCAA Tournament. He previously worked at South Alabama, where he served as an assistant coach and chief of staff.
